Wage differentials between men and women: evidence from cohort studies

Between the late 1970s and the early 1990s the relative wages of men and women in full-time jobs were on a slowly convergent path. At the same time, the wages of women in part-time jobs lagged behind those of women, and men, in full-time jobs. In this study, detailed longitudinal evidence from two national cohort studies is used to unpack the reasons for these changes over time, as they were experienced by people in their early thirties.
