Local labour market variations in post-16 participation: evidence from the end of the eighties

In this report the variations are explored between local labour markets in post-16 participation at the end of the eighties. An attempt is made to establish how far differences in participation rates are related to the characteristics of the local labour markets themselves. In looking at the effects of different local labour markets on participation the authors try to isolate that part of the overall relationship that may be uniquely attributable to differences between local labour markets rather than other sources.
