Paying their way: the experience of adult learners in vocational education and training in FE colleges

This report records the experience of nearly 60 adult learners in further education (FE) over the period of a year. It shows a remarkable degree of satisfaction with programmes and courses of study but far less satisfaction with support and other college services. It raises the serious financial issues which confront many adults wishing to return to education and training, highlighting many anomalies and inconsistencies in the benefit and grant systems.
