This new annual publication presents a series of concise analyses on policy relevant themes, based upon selected international education indicators (see TD/APSDIN 52.04). It takes up selected themes of importance to governments and analyses their relevance for education policy. It draws mainly on the OECD’s own indicators, but brings in relevant external sources where necessary. Issues in this document are: An overview of enrolment and expenditure trends; Educational outcomes: measuring student achievement and adult competence; Transition from school to work; Teachers’ pay and conditions.
