This publication deals with student services - services which support the learner, described variously as student, client, user, customer or learner support services - in further education colleges in the UK. It is intended as a discussion paper for generating commentary and ongoing dialogue on the development of college services in general. It seeks to identify emerging development issues with particular regard to the organisation and staffing of learner services and the impact of these services on the FE curriculum offer and overall quality of provision.
