The Technical and Vocational Education Initiative (TVEI) was the largest curriculum development project funded and administered by central government in the UK and Wales. It aimed to make the education of 14 to 18 year olds more practical, applied and relevant. This report summarises the history and development of the project, and describes its achievements, some unintended outcomes, negative features and lessons learnt.
