David Kemp, Minister for Schools, Vocational Education and Training, gave the closing address for the ANTA small business forum in May 1996. He spoke about the opportunities available to small business under government policies and the importance of skilled workers for the continued productivity and success of Australia. The modern Australian apprenticeship and traineeship systems are described briefly and the importance of them into the future is highlighted. The Minister commented on key concerns of small business and what government will do to address those concerns. Workplace relations and financial incentives are also briefly described.
