KPMG Management Consulting, in association with Bob Marshman & Associates, were commissioned by the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) to examine the impact of labour hire on apprenticeship arrangements in the traditional apprenticeship industries. A survey was carried out of labour hire firms offering services to industries where traditional apprenticeships are generally found, covering New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia. In addition, a series of case studies of four labour hire firms and four of their client firms were conducted, and a review of the research into labour hire in Australia and internationally was undertaken. This document reports on the project and supplies as appendices the case studies, the survey questionnaire and summary of responses.
