A question of literacy: a PD resource for security industry RTOs

This CD based audio-visual presentation is a professional development (PD) product to help trainers and registered training organisations (RTOs) in the security industry understand and deal more effectively with the issue of language, literacy and numeracy. The resource aims to support trainers by assisting them to: understand the concept of literacy more fully; recognise the key linguistic features of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) (indexed at TD/ERD 87.209); identify the implicit language, literacy and numeracy requirements within units of competence training packages; and develop training materials and assessment tasks which relate to the industry context at an appropriate target level.
