Boronia Village: communicating in aged care

This resource is designed to support the delivery of competencies from the Community Services (Aged Care) Training Package and is specifically designed to assist those workers with limited language literacy and numeracy skills. The material uses a fictional nursing home, called Boronia Village as the context for developing skills in finding out about residents, caring for them and reporting and recording progress notes. The activities which follow the spoken scenarios are simple and effective at highlighting the ways in which workers can ensure their communication about residents is effective and appropriate.
