Adult Literacy and Numeracy Australian Research Consortium (South Australia): report on the 1999 South Australian program

This report from ALNARC South Australia comprises three sections and deals with developing a research culture (p. 1). The first is an evaluation of the research and mentoring model in South Australia, the second looks at literacy, language and numeracy within training packages and the third section investigates literacy and numeracy programs for special needs clients; young unemployed, those in the Mutual Obligation scheme, rural-based programs and women returning to study in a remote area. The mentoring model aims to help researchers through workshops and assist them undertake small projects in a local setting. The Horticultural Training package was the setting for investigating literacy and numeracy inclusion by a registered training provider within the training packages.
