Putting it into practice: the training package for assessment and workplace training

This resource has been developed to help Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), workplaces and individuals to identify their training and assessment needs and consequently assist in the development of training and assessment systems. Moving on from there, it discusses the provision and maintenance of quality training and assessment programs. It aims to be a practical and easy-to-read publication designed to clarify training packages and how they are used. It covers competency standards, how they can be used, and how they can be customised to meet individual and workplace needs. There are 8 sections which addresss the following issues: - Introduction to the Training Package for Assessment and Workplace Training - Outline of what is in the Training Package, the Assessment Guidelines, the Qualifications Framework, and the Competency Standards for Assessment and Workplace Training (with examples) - Designing training systems and implementing learning programs - Pathways to formal qualifications - Information on RTO's - Issues regarding quality control of assessments, assessors, systems and procedures; equivalence of qualifications, maintenance of assessment currency and workplace applications - Glossary of associated terms and references for further reading.
