Employee development programs (EDPs): pilot study report

This report documents a project which introduced Employee Development Programs (EDPs) in companies in Geelong, and evaluated the processes and outcomes of the programs. EDPs are intended to offer employees opportunities to take up organised learning through a short course on a topic of their own choice. They are particlularly directed towards employees who lack experiences of education and training. In this project, short courses were run in a wide range of areas, including computer skills, financial planning, sports and cooking. The project found that EDPs can bring a number of benefits for employees, employers and the community, and this report includes findings, recommendations, research model and case studies.
