Communication and literacy assessment screening package (CLASP)

This resource is targeted at employment service officers who are not trained literacy teachers/assessors and who need to undertake initial assessment of clients. It provides a step-by-step guide to follow and includes: - a case study of a fictional client - notes on how to conduct an assessment interview and complete appropriate forms - a collection of texts and mathematical exercises that could be used (with answers) - notes on interpreting results. The assessment tasks are linked to the National Reporting System (levels 1 - 3). Photocopiable masters are also included.
