The Australian Curriculum Studes Association (ACSA) is a professional organisation that works to support educators so that all students have access to a meaningful, relevant and engaging curriculum. The ACSA newsletter provides articles, news from the schools, ACSA information, and ACSA Executive news. In this edition is an article about the recipient of the Garth Boomer award for 2003, Buranda State School in Queensland. Garth Boomer was one of Australia's major contributors to the advancement of school based curriculum development. The award is made to members of a team of two or more educators who have made a significant contribution to promote collaborative principles in a school. This edition also provides highlights from the 2003 ACSA Conference, held in Adelaide on 28-30 September. The theme of the conference was 'Conversactions: conversations and actions'. The President of ACSA reports on the work of ACSA over the past two decades. Janet Giles, Secretary of the United Trades and Labour Coucil, South Australia, reviews a new ACSA publication entitled 'Rethinking public education: towards a public curriculum' edited by Alan Reid and Pat Thomson.
