Fairness in assessment: quality information for students

The importance of having clear and unambiguous information on how you are to be assessed is vital to students. The provision of quality information was an issue to be carefully addressed when the Institute policy was revised. This paper outlines what teachers agreed was essential information that students could expect to receive from their teachers when they start a module. Information and feedback are seen as underpinning the principle of fairness in assessment.
