The Certificate course meets a local community need for a full-time pre-vocational women's course which will offer women who have been identified by the Commonwealth Employment Service as long-term unemployed the option of accessing a course in which they can acquire both work-related competencies and overall 'work readiness'. The course aims to assist participants to access information concerning a wide range of vocational options. It will encourage participants to become aware of and understand women's status in society and to examine the implications of a gender divided workforce.
