The geoscience specialisation of the associate diploma of applied science course aims to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of the mining industry and energy resources in Australia. It will produce technical personnel competent in geology, geophysics and geochemistry with a good working knowledge of the main exploration and production techniques used by the industry. Through a combination of field work and related theoretical skills the course will equip students for success in the quickly changing work situations typical of the mining industry.
