Over the last two decades, massive growth and innovation in technology have brought about changes in education, training and employment. These changes are likely to impact workforce planning, workforce development and particularly teaching and learning processes for years to come. Researchers are particularly interested in how these changes affect curriculum development to meet skill demand for the future and how best to utilise new delivery/assessment modes. Other key aspects of research in this area relate to digital skills, including those involved with social media, and trends in employment resulting from technological innovations and their overall impact on future labour markets; the outcomes of which inform the capacity building of future vocational education and training (VET) practitioners.
