Abstract:

In recent years, considerable emphasis has been placed on the importance of employability and basic skills for successful participation in the workforce. This is the second of a two-part study designed to explore the priorities of employers regarding the types of skills they perceive to be critical to successful employment. The findings of this study are consistent with those of the initial vocational educator-based study where the primary emphasis was placed on the employability skill cluster (inclusive of good work habits, attitudes, and interpersonal skills).
