Abstract:

The point is made that technical and vocational education is important within the sphere of education, as well as making an enormous contribution to economic and technological development. The author starts by outlining the contribution of educational development to economic development. This is followed by a discussion of the main policies in the present stage of economic development. The future outlook for human resource supply and demand is covered. The paper ends with strategies for developing technological and vocational education in line with economic development.
