Abstract:

In April 2012, the New South Wales (NSW) government signed the National Partnership Agreement on Skills Reform. ‘Smart and skilled’ meets NSW’s commitment under that agreement. The reform will introduce: an entitlement for government subsidised training up to and including Certificate III; funding for higher level training and skill sets in priority areas; informed choice with improved quality measures; recognition of the role and function of TAFE NSW as the public provider; greater support for regions and equity groups; and better information for consumers. This document is the draft quality framework for ‘Smart and skilled’. Feedback from consultations on this draft framework will inform the development of the final version of the framework.
