Author: Kroker, Eduard J. M.

Abstract:

The authors consider if and to what extent people define themselves through their work. The point of departure is the concern that only youths with qualified training are employable on the labour market. Among the issues addressed in the volume are the future of work, the source of jobs and the roles played by unions, new technologies, the environment and the economy. The authors also try to find answers to questions such as the importance with regard to work of the ethics of world religions, how leisure time will be organised in the future, how solutions to unemployment can be found and what forms of work motivation promise the best results.
