Abstract:

This course is a revision of the ACT New Opportunities for Women (ACT NOW) course currently offered by the Institute. In the last two years Sistertrust (ACT) has conducted an evaluation of the course. The findings were very positive, particularly regarding the course's proven ability to raise participants' self-esteem and self-confidence.

The course will assist women to recognise and overcome the inequalities that they may have experienced in the past; recognise and overcome disadvantages experienced in education and work; improve their self esteem through increasing their belief in their own abilities, resources and potential and recognise and determine a program to reach their full potential educationally, socially and for employment in a diversity of careers.
