Abstract:

This chapter investigates the place of cognitive abilities within vocational assessment and guidance. The authors begin with an analysis of the relationship between cognitive abilities, school and job performance. They then discuss the nature of the relationships occurring between abilities and interests. In the final part of the chapter, models and methods used to assess cognitive abilities in career guidance are described.
