Abstract:
Getting the best of both worlds, the world of work and the world of family and home, will be of increasing importance to Britain's workforce over the next decade as more people who want to combine home and work successfully enter the labour market. It will be those employers who can offer flexible working arrangements who will have the competitive edge in recruiting and retaining such employees. This guide describes some of the measures that employers have introduced to encourage people with family commitments, particularly women, to work for them.
