Abstract:

This document has been produced by the Vocational Learning Support Programme to support teachers delivering General National Vocational Qualifications (GNVQs) and vocational A-levels in the United Kingdom. The document provides guidance for teachers to enhance the vocational content of teaching through innovative delivery strategies and the use of teacher placements in industry. It is designed to help teachers devise a whole-centre approach to vocational learning, develop teaching and learning strategies for vocational programs, collect resources, and consider the benefits of teacher placement in industry and work experience, and part-time work for students. Case studies which illustrate examples of good practice and materials produced by participating schools and colleges, are included.
