Abstract:

The question of nomenclature and classification regarding technicians, their education and their functions as used around the world has often given rise to controversy and misunderstanding. This report arises from a survey of current practice and is intended to help identify manor difficulties and differences and give clearer insight into the problem. It includes a critical analysis of the problem and contains summaries of the systems for training technicians and technician engineers in many countries.
