Abstract:

The themes explored in this paper, through a brief overview of the current national and state vocational education and training (VET) scene in Australia and of the major issues facing public sector VET providers can be summarised as: seamless education and training: articulation pathways; globalisation; implications of an ageing population; the role of industry; funding; and technology and online learning. The intention of the paper is to make a link between practitioners’ perceptions and research around these issues and to provide a snapshot in time.
