Abstract:

This report examines the findings of the technological updating/retraining survey, conducted in 1981. The data which form the basis of the study were obtained by analysing self support questionnaires from Technical Education Division teaching staff; change within each study area, as perceived by Heads of Departments; and, finally, interviews with representatives from industry and commerce. The report then examines the implications for staff development in TAFE, Western Australia, and updating requirements for the next three years.
