Abstract:

Past research has highlighted the strong links between employment and reduced re-offending but many offenders lack the basic language, literacy and numeracy skills that will enable them to compete in the employment market. This toolkit is intended to enable corrections educators to gauge the ability of offenders in core areas and to develop appropriate employment-focused learning programs.
