Abstract:

This report synthesises the findings of a range of projects that piloted and investigated the Mayer key competencies in various ways in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The report is divided into seven sections: stakeholder support for the key competencies; extent of their presence; how they have been interpreted; how they have been incorporated into standards, curriculum and training materials; teaching/learning of them; the assessment/reporting of them; and unresolved issues. The report contains an annotated bibliography.
