Abstract:

The vocational training institutions in Latin America receive their funding from many and varied sources. Traditionally, the institutions operated with an ordinary budget nearly always derived from levies on employers’ payrolls. At present, conditions have substantially changed; enterprises outside conventional vocational training areas have opened up new funding sources. This document looks at the sources and trends in Latin American vocational education financing as the picture emerges.
