Abstract:

The authors outline their experience in delivering the Diploma in IT (Systems Administration) course in blended mode. They identified five main tools and strategies they employed in delivering the course to the students. They are: (1) managing - both the students and the course material; (2) communicating - maintaining contact with students by both face-to-face and electronic means; (3) availability and flexibility - facilitators being available outside of scheduled times and flexible enrolment for students; (4) multimedia - has the potential to cater to different learning styles however major hurdles encountered; (5) the facilitator - needs to motivate students to learn.
