Abstract:

This plan sets out the strategic directions and priorities for the textile, clothing and footwear (TCF) industries in New South Wales for vocational education and training (VET) over the three years 2000-2002. The contents of the plan include: long term vision for the TCF industry; executive summary; industry profile; strategic directions; industry by sector; industry VET needs by region; and methodology.

The textile, clothing and footwear industries include the processing and manufacture of textile products such as fibres, yarns and fabrics; the design and manufacture of clothing, footwear, hats and accessories; the manufacture of leather and leather products; and the 'allied' or service sectors of laundering, dry cleaning and shoe repair.
