Abstract:
This is the first stage report of the DETAFE College Amalgamation Review Project. The project is concerned with providing a better service to students in the context of the future directions of DETAFE. It examines reasons for proposed changes to the existing way of operation, and the educational and resource advantages and disadvantages of the changes. The report also details the implications for TAFE of population and labour force trends, the optimum college size, staffing, managerial issues and the devolution of some Central Office functions.
