Abstract:

Games for teaching and learning have been a popular device for professional trainers for ages. Numerous strategies and techniques are needed for trainers to present their ideas to the trainees. Training is a continuous teaching and learning process. For trainers to be remarkable, they must have passion and be interested in improving their presentation and training skills.

This article describes why games, though a trainer's best medium for expressing/conveying concepts, are not given due importance by trainers. The article is based on the author's personal experience as a trainee, the observations of fellow trainees and the views of the co-participants that he collected immediately after the programmes. The article examines six incidents where programmes using/on training games were not as they should have been. From the view of a trainer and learner, the article explains why and how to make effective use of training games.
