Abstract:

This course has been developed to meet the educational and training needs of persons with intellectual disabilities. It combines training in vocational and social skills, work ethics and behavioural issues which will facilitate the entry of school leavers with disabilities into regular and useful employment.

The aims of the course are to enable students to exercise informed choice in their selection of a career area; to develop general vocational and specific job-related skills; and to enhance employment opportunities through the provision of on-the-job training.
