Curriculum and pedagogy revisited: strategy and approaches in technical-vocational education and training system

Abstract:

The technical-vocational education and training (TVE) system plays an important role in providing a highly skilled workforce to fulfil the needs of industry. However, industry is not satisfied with the standard of graduates of the TVE system in both technical qualities and personal qualities. This paper reports on the findings in a project implementing TVE in an appropriate educational institution in Malaysia, concentrating on reaching and learning strategies intended to face the challenges produced by changes to the world of work.
