The journal of the British Sociological Association, this periodical is concerned with the sociology of work, labour processes, labour markets, gender and domestic divisions of labour and the effects on these of structural economic change. This issue includes articles on inter-generational social mobility in Communist Russia; cultural capital and social exclusion; an analysis of the Japanese economy in global competition; an examination of gender relations in employment in the context of restructuring; women in military occupations. The issue also includes a debate about British trade unions.
