Abstract:
This edition of the Western Australian Department of Training and Employment's bi-monthly publication includes the following articles: 'Policy update', which gives a brief update on the changes to national quality assurance arrangements, and the development of the Skills Recognition Framework for Vocational Education and Training in Western Australia (WA).
Other articles include: 'The 'people Network' - all buddies to WA's TAFE students', about the College Management Information System; 'Internet system gives access to training providers', which discusses the new TRS-NET system, which allows registered training providers (RTOs) improved access to the State Training Authority's apprenticeship and traineeship records; 'Aboriginal and Islander College of Music officially opened', which describes the official opening of the new home for Australia's only Indigenous contemporary music school at Clontarf; 'TAFE partnership benefits Pilbara training', which describes two new training and education facilities in Port Hedland and Tom Price.
Other titles include: 'TAFE handbook now online' and 'Equity conference highlights good practice helps overcome disabilities'. The WA government's Profit from Experience Program is also highlighted in two articles, entitled 'South West benefits from mature experience' and 'Employers give priority to training scheme'.
