Working (in) formation: conceptualizing information literacy in the workplace

Abstract:

Workplace information practices of fire fighters are conceptualized through an exploration of how fire fighters use information from a range of textual and non-textual sources so that information becomes embodied within the discourse of practice. The role of the collective in shaping and influencing information practices is also explored.
