Abstract:
Divided into four modules: Life skills, Work skills, Expressive skills and Creative skills, this resource is designed for students who are in alternative post compulsory education some of whom are undertaking Certificates in General Education after doing adult literacy programs. It recognises the need to engage youth and deliver relevant material within a recognised accredited curriculum. The project team who have developed this resource have a wealth of experience and knowledge between them of the needs and interests of youth. Units with titles such as 'Sex, Drugs and Staying Whole'; 'I'm in Charge'; 'Getting the Guts'; 'Wear it, Hang it or Stuff it' have an obvious appeal.
