Author: Brass, Charles

Abstract:

This paper discusses how an increase in the supply of money could lead to full employment, and that the lack of sufficient money in the community is the major impediment to jobs for all. It discounts theories such as a shortage of work, lack of skills, and the attitude of the unemployed as significant impediments to full employment. It also talks about various alternatives to 'official money' - such as locally created and traded currencies.

The main entry for the Working Visions Conference 2001 is at TD/WA 69.06. Individual presentations from the Conference can be found from TD/WA 69.07 to TD/WA 69.39.
