Abstract:
In October 2000, the European Commission wrote 'A memorandum on lifelong learning' which launched a Europe-wide consultation process to help identify strategies to foster lifelong learning for all. This article reports on issues raised at a national conference organised by the German Institute for Adult Education in May 2001 to discuss and help formulate recommendations to the European Commission in response to the memorandum.
