Abstract:

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) activity on Higher Education and Employment covers three discrete projects: The flows of graduates from higer education and their entry into working life: The case of the humanities and the social sciences; and Recent developments in continuing professional education. This report is devoted to the first of these three projects. The four volumes comprising this set contain contributions from the following countries respectively: Vol. 1: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Germany; Vol. 2: Canada, Denmark, Spain, United States; Vol. 3: Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway; Vol. 4: Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Yugoslavia. It should be noted that the emphasis is on flows rather than institutions. Higher education is defined as the education and training experience of those who have completed upper secondary education or its equivalent.
