Abstract:
This paper is part of the Framework for National Collaboration in Flexible Learning in [vocational education and training] VET 2000-2004 and completes the first of three stages within the Flexible Learning Best Practice project. This first stage involved a literature review focusing on the academic writings concerned with online learning and a website review evaluating organisations that offer online learning. One of the findings of the literature review was that there was little written about the needs of the learner in the online environment. The website review showed that at times it was hard to find the cost of the course within the website and whether the course was accredited nationally. The next two stages of the project will involve further investigation of organisations involved with online learning and analysis of the findings of the literature and website reviews.
The project report, 'Strategy 2000: flexible learning best practice', is indexed at TD/TNC 79.370.
