Abstract:

The Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA) is proposing two new policies which are aimed at recognising ‘other learning’ ie programs or activities which are undertaken outside formal South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) studies but which may contribute to completing the SACE school curriculum. This consultation paper aims to provide information and to seek feedback on the two proposed policies. It covers: the rationale for policy development in this area; SSABSA’s current recognition provision; the parameters of the recognition framework; the proposed policies; the procedures for the policies; and a basis for discussion on a range of issues involved in the recognition of other learning. This paper is also accompanied by an online Consultation survey.
