Primary industries are facing a shortfall of skilled workers in the agriculture sector and need to address this as part of future proofing and developing the long term viability of the sector. It is hypothesised that the appeal of the sector is low due to a misunderstanding of what a career in agriculture offers. The technological innovation that is taking place within the sector and the new careers that are possible are not being communicated to students.
