Abstract:

A vocational education (VE) teacher's identity is intrinsically linked to the industry from which they first drew the practical knowledge that is applied in their teaching. Maintaining industry currency is then essential to how a VE teacher designs curriculum and ensures relevant, valid and authentic assessment. It is also a mandated requirement that vocational teachers provide evidence of how they maintain their industry knowledge and how they grow their capability as educators.
